On the other hand Keen.com interpreters list Yahoo Translation and Interpreters list Google Translation and Interpreters list all have lists of companies that provide translation services. These companies are important for those times when a certified copy of a document is required. Immigration documents will need certified translations.
The best option for non-certified communication is to use a friend who is trustworthy. If you are making a romantic call or writing a very personal letter your deepest emotions will be on the line. The person doing the translation must be trustworthy enough not to give away information to others. The person who does the translation must also be aware of the proper translation for the country of the intended recipient. A friend may be the best way to make a threeway call if you feel you can trust them to make valid translations. If the person is a practical joker a threeway call is not the time to have them translate for you.

I ran into this constantly in trying understand different Spanish speaking people who are from different countries. A simple word such as the name of a fruit, not to be reviled here, is used as a vulgar slang term in Cuba yet commonly used as the name of the fruit in Colombia with no problems.
Even something as simple as how you ask to use the phone can be natural in El Salvador but valgar in Mexico. Remember such translation problems when trying to communicate.

This capability is only valuable when the user has some understanding of the language and the country for which the translation is to be use.
